Thanks. The New Idea crimper was my great uncle’s. I have a “small” collection of sickle mowers, but that 110 mid mount is the only one I can pull the crimper at the same time. I have used two tractors before, one following after the other to crimp with the other mowers. The other mowers I have include: (2) Dearborn 14-15, (2) JD #5’s (one quick-tach, one drawbar), (2) IH 27V, IH 25V, Ferguson Dyna-Balance (most of, missing lifting yoke)

Nice hay mowing rig! I’d like to see that in operation. Cutting and then crimping the following pass. I have an old JD 22 crimper I bought years ago. I need to replace a roller bearing so I can use it again.

I could have used the escort today, too hot out for the birds but not the bugs.

While mowing today the swift’s were out in full force. I call them my fighter escort.  It’s hard to get a picture of all of them at once, but I had 20 to 30 swifts saving me from all the evil bugs in the field that the haybine was kicking up.  It amazing how close they are willing to get to me and how acrobatic they are.  It’s one of my favorite parts of mowing. They keep me entertained.  I have one circled but there a few more in the pic
