I think Brad's point is that not everyone favros eliminating gas household appliances. Replacing carbon containing fossil fuel electrical generating plants with solar panels is far easier to say than do.

Ralph Goff in Saskatchewan AT List Member (alfg at sasktel.net); Wow, as usual I am behind the times. I was advised that when I have to replace my electric water heater that I should go with natural gas as it is much more efficient than the old electric. Sounds like by the time I am ready to replace it they will be recommending electric again? I still consider my gas furnace high efficiency although it is 30 years old.

Bradford AT List Member (bloomis at charter.net); Well the measure failed in the city council. Not that progressive yet. The primary aim was to end gas water heaters, ranges, and clothes dryers in new construction. The mayor's idea to cut carbon emissions. More pressing is where the hell they are getting all the water for the thousands of new homes to be built in SLO in the next few years?
