[AT] Did the engine seize up on ATIS?

Thanks guys.
I have a long history with flat-heads starting with a Model A Ford that I
basically learned to drive in. I remember when my father got a brand new
surplus 4 banger Jeep engine right after WW-II to put in his 1937 Willys 4
door. He had parked it during the war because he couldn't get Jeep parts.
Not only was it a complete ready to run drop-in engine up to and including
the air cleaner, we also used that heavy crate as a dog house for over 15
years. :-)
A 39 chrysler 4 door we had later was a flat head as was the 1952 Ford V-8
station wagon we got in 1954. My 1952 Plymouth Cranbrook 2 door was the
common flat-head 6 that dated back to about 1935 and it was also almost
identical to the flat-head 6 in a friends 1957 Plymouth. I guess my 1953
Dodge was my first non flat-head engine. It was a hemi... Around 1968 a
friend gave me his fathers old 1949 Oldsmobile Model 77 that was his second
car and I drove it as my second car for several years. It was a flat-head 6.
Of course there were all manner of configurations like L-head, F-head etc.
but if I knew what exactly each meant I have forgotten. :-)
Cecil, I have several of that vintage of "Motors Manuals" (back when they
were a gold mine of information) and I need to dig one out. BTW, I still go
back to one of them if I have voltage regulator question etc. Lots of in
depth stuff...
