They may have been thinking of fix-a-flat rather than slime. Fix-a-flat makes a horrible mess of everything.Slime cleans up pretty easy with water.

I was going to try Slime in a leaking roto tiller tire but all the tire 
guys I talked to advised me not to use it. They really hate it for some 
reason.
