[AT] 430V update

I tried several things to find the vacuum leak, and the problem is either not a vacuum leak, or is just so insidious that propane and WD-40 just simply isn't going to find it. Considering manifold gaskets are super easy to replace and cheap, I just ordered a replacement gasket(carb and manifold) from John Deere(price was competitive). At least I can rule out the gaskets after I deck/file the manifold and replace the gaskets.

I am beginning to suspect the Carb. I didn't have a hunt at idle for the first little bit that I ran the engine. But the throttle also wasn't working so I never got a true idle so I assumed the hunt was real and the lack of throttle control hid it. Plus I am not getting the response from adjustments that I would expect.

Also, I am pretty sure the carburetor is a MS TSX 541. The parts catalog indicates I should have a 641. I need to pull the carb when I do the manifold and double check the number. (Of course the tag is facing the engine so I can't see it). Does anyone know if the 641s were a definite for this tractor? The 541s were common on Ford's, so I'm afraid the carb is been replaced sometime in the past. If that's the case that might explain my hunt.

I got the serial number research from the two cylinder club today. Here's a picture of the document they sent me. The tractor survives as it was shipped a except the "dry charge" battery of course (-: Everything mentioned is still the same and the tail light even still works(did have to clean up the ground).

An interesting sidenote: the finish date is my wife's birthday(it is a few years older). I thought that would earn a few points for the tractor, but I don't think it did :-)
