I have the same problem with our Late Styled JD (12 volt) A.  I always have to pull the mag cap off and dress the points after an long sit.  Nothing is visible on them, but touching them up is the only thing I do to make the difference between starting and not.  Changing points and condenser makes no difference--I just have to do it again the next year.
