[AT] Ford Tractor Question

A month or so ago my brother bought a Ford NAA Jubilee.  He has wanted 
to put a step up-step down Sherman transmission in it. Today he bought a 
parts tractor with one but it turns out it is a Ford 801. He thought 
everything would fit but after getting it home and doing some research 
he is not sure. A lot of what he reads online seems to conflict; but one 
site said the input shaft splines have a different number of splines on 
these tractors.  Does anyone know or can direct us to a site that 
explains it.
