[AT] Off Topic- Danville, VA , Northern NC area

I have had a interesting job opportunity come up in Danville VA. Usually they are just calls that don't go anywhere but this job has progressed to the point where they want me to come down for a face to face interview. I have not been to Danville VA before but spent a lot of time in the greater Charlotte area. My question is how is the area in general? The closest I have been to this area was Mebane, NC which was a very nice town and had a good BBQ joint. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
