First of all, I haven't shopped for a battery charger in decades.  I still
have the 10 amp 6/12V Schumacher that I bought when I was probably 16 years
old.  It's fully manual, and not for sale ;-)

It sounds to me like the product liability lawyers have taken over the
battery charger realm and you might as well give up your search right now.

Focus instead on a lab-type power supply.  Here's one that I found in about
six seconds (meaning, it's just a very quick example and not something I
would specifically recommend)
