Spencer's comment and others are on target. Just because we miss my
father and will continue to do so, that does not mean that it was not
his time - it was. On the Tractor front, one of his last lucid comments
was about how proud he was of my youngest son to be driving the little
Farmall tractor that we got at the Tulare show auction and how he knew
that was just part of the process of his growing up!
I have been talking to my father's friends and breaking the news
of his death to them. Quite a process. Universally they have good things
to say about him and are saying how much they will miss him. There sure
is a lot of work associated with a person dying.... I need to get back
to work so I can go to church soon, I am thankful that church and church
friends are a fact in my life as they do help recharge me.

A friend once told me, when my grandfather died, it is no tragedy when an old man dies. I remember thinking when my friend told me that he must not have ever had an old man in his life die.

It is what nature intended. So celebrate your father's contribution to mankind and his love. And look forward to a future where you can teach all of his offspring the lessons he imparted to you.
