[AT] 10 gallon oil drain pan

The only drawback I see of having a 10 gal pan full of oil is how do you
empty it? It's going to weigh close to 100lb.
We catch all our oil in smaller containers and then empty them into a 55 gal
drum. We've got a large metal drip pan to put under tractors for messy jobs,
it will probably hold a couple gallons--measures about 2ft x 4 ft. It’s a 2
man job to empty that thing into a small container that can then be emptied
into the barrel. A buddy of mine got it right--he had a pit you could drive
straddle of in the back of his shop.

One thing you could do if you wanted to make something is to take and split
open a hot water heater tank. Weld some legs with rollers on them and
install/use and existing port fro drainage. Of course this would weigh a
lot empty, much less full. We used to split water heater tanks in half to
use in the hog lot for watering troughs.

Subject: [AT] 10 gallon oil drain pan

Hi guys, I need to drain the common sump transmission, hydraulic fluid
out of my tractor. It holds about 10 gallons. Any (cheap) ideas on how
to do that without making a mess? I have an assortment of 5 gallon
buckets, but they won't fit under the drain plug. Any thoughts or ideas
would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike M
