A shop vac works very well, but put the exhaust downwind. Do it
outside. A shop vac aerosolizes all those microbes. Inside a shop,
it can give you a respiratory infection. When I get trucks in that
have to be cleaned out, I use the old 185 cfm air compressor with a 3/4
inch pipe cut down to a 3/8 in diameter nozzle. It cleans everything.
Sometimes even the rusted out floorboards. That way I can stay upwind.

I was in a world of hurt when my sullair compressor would not start. I
found an old Ingersoll rotary with a Detroit engine and thanks to Bo
Hinch, I got the regulator running. I would not be without a big
compressor in the farm. If I don't blow out my old 648 NH baler every
other day I break a belt. My bat wing mower sets outside, and if I
don't blow off the old grass, it rusts terribly. I clean out the drill,
then blow with the big compressor. The pull type swather gets it every
morning before I grease it.. It will work you as bad as trying to
rope a 500lb calf, but it sure pays off on machinery repair. I
usually get a couple of items ready to blow off, do it, then go take a
shower and rest a few minutes. I also use a full face mask and
gloves...........

I opened the grain box and the middle of it is about half full of mouse nest, poop and urine. Do you think it's salvageable? I wonder if the cups are rusted solid? It won't be pleasant scooping this mess out, then the power wash back splatter will be hazmat quality....
