I too forgot to mention a couple Uncles that were younger than my Father who served in WWII and ended up in the really bad places in the South Pacific where many didn't survive. Both were lucky to return. My father helped both of them financially to get through college prior to their military duty. One graduated with a Doctorate in Chemistry at age 21 from Iowa State and the other graduated from Iowa U as a pharmacist. The first was written up in Ripley's believe it or not for his accomplishment at such an early age. It is amazing how many families contributed to the war effort. Fortunately all the members of our family returned home. Many didn't. Thank You veterans.

I had an older brother who was called up for WWII, was rejected and then called in again for Korea and two brother in-laws in Korea. One came back pretty messed up but over time was able to recover. He was in Korea when the Chinese invaded with nothing more than pitch forks in their hands. He was on a 30 Caliber sub machine gun. Then later was guarding prisoners. When he got back home he had to sleep with a rifle in bed in order to feel safe. We don't appreciate enough what these guys have done for us. Thanks to all veterans.

I would also like to say thanks to all you Veterans. Your service has
allowed the rest of us to enjoy freedom like no other country. My Dad
was a WWII Vet. I miss him every day....
