[AT] OT--game changer

I certainly agree with most of what has been said.
However, a couple thoughts include:
a. I don't trust the grain companies, or chemical companies, or food
companies, or regulators any more than I trust the tobacco companies or
politicians.
b. We must be politically correct, and not offend the obese; so there is
not even subtle pressure on them to do something about their condition.
c. We must be politically correct, and not comment about the
over-population of the world. The only person that I have ever heard comment
about the need to address this over-population is Ted Turner.
d. Leaders like to give the impression that they like whistle blowers, but
that is true only if the whistle blower has someone else in their sights.
e. Glutton content in todays wheat is several times as high as a few
decades ago. I have no idea as to why.
f. Several years ago some prominent writer(?) wrote a book about ADM; I was
channel hopping and happened to run across his being interviewed on some TV
program, their conclusion was the book title should have been "who do we
have to buy off".
g. If one agrees with above, one has to conclude that our world is in a
pretty sad situation.

90% of the increase is due to two items. Neither of which has anything
to do with the foods available today.

1. The blood glucose numbers that are used to diagnose if a person is
diabetic have been steadily lowered. This automatically leads to more
people being diabetic.

2. Look around you at the population. Notice that more are obese? That
they are not real active? The sedentary lifestyle also leads to more
diabetics, They are still eating the same but not burning off the calories.

The folks who are crying "it's them GMO foods", or "It's the corn syrup"
have no idea what they are talking about. BUT they get lot's of
attention because these days it isn't the fault of the person eating 20
pounds of food while drinking 4 liters of soda and setting in the easy
chair watching micheal moore and getting fatter every second. It can't
be. It has to be someone else's fault, hopefully a "disease" or better
yet a company who makes the food or drinks.
