Coolspring Summer Expo Schedule

Wednesday, June 17 (Official Set up day)

Thursday, June 18
7:00 AM – 8:00 PM Normal operation of Museum and Feature Engines
7:00 PM A presentation on flame ignition engines will be given at the Coolspring Presbyterian Church. The discussion will cover two topics: First, an introduction to the new book on flame ignition engines and secondly, a brief discussion on Schleicher Schumm & Co., an early US builder of slide valve engines under Otto's patents. There will be a book signing by the author immediately afterward Note: The Presbyterian Church is located across the street from the museum. 


Friday, June 19 
7:00 AM – 8:00 PM Normal operation of Museum and Feature Engines
11:00 AM Group photo of all people exhibiting a flame ignition engine. This is open for anyone exhibiting a flame ignition engine, model engine ( Original or contemporary) or reproduction engine . please plan on attending this. Location, south side (field side) of the Susong bld
1:00 PM Group photo of all international guests - South side of the Susong bld
3:00 PM A memorial service and building dedication in honor of Preston Foster will be held at the Susong building addition.
7:00 PM	The Coolspring Power Museum is pleased to have most of the known flame ignition non-compression Crown Gas Pumping engines present during this momentous event. Although many of the Crown engines will be we operating throughout the event, there will be a special simultaneous run of all of the Crown engines at 7:00 P.M. in the Susong Building/ Preston Foster Hall.
7:30 PM	A special evening run of flame ignition engines is scheduled in The Preston Foster Hall, Wilcox Building and Harvey Expo Building and Pat’s Place. Feel free to mingle, watch and talk to the owners of these historic engines in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Saturday, June 20
7:00 AM – 8:00 PM Normal operation of Museum and Feature Engines

Run Schedule of Large Engines:
Although running frequently during normal hours, the Otto and Langen atmospheric engine, located in The Preston Foster Hall, will have a set run time of noon daily. This engine is the oldest running internal combustion engine in the Western Hemisphere. 

600 HP Snow – Tandem, Double Acting Natural Gas Pumping Engine	Daily 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 8:00 PM
300 HP Miller – Four Cylinder Opposed Daily 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, & 8:00 PM 
175 HP Otto - One of the largest single cylinder gas engines in the world	Daily 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM , 3:00 PM , 5:00 PM, Special Friday Night 9:00 PM
Turner-Fricke in the Wilcox Building and the 65 HP Blaisdell in the Windy city are started at frequent intervals during the event.
We will make every attempt to adhere to this schedule; however run times may vary depending upon engineer availability.
