[AT] Need help troubleshooting engine/compressor

I have been on the phone and online with Sullair.  They have been good 
about trying to help.   The engine must start under load until the 
compressor reaches 40psi, then some regulation begins.  No a lot 
though.  The engine operates under full load until the receiver fills 
and the compressor is cut back.  So,,,,   My problem must be in the 
engine.  If the electrical parts don't fix it, then I will overhaul the 
carb.   It is an overhead cam, so I don't know if there is a valve 
adjustment or it is hydraulic.  Mazda/Ford 4cyl engine.
