Dick, what you say makes a lot of sense.

I think I would be looking as much at the way the pump is
constructed as at what brand of engine is on it.  There is
a lot of stress on those pumps and some of the low pressure
units (gas and electric) have some skimpy looking pumps on them.

I tried the electric washers as I swore I would never add another internal
combustion engine to the 'fleet'.  The electrics, at least the two I tried,
were problematic. The salespeople at Tractor Supply and Menards both tried
to discourage me from going electric.  I ended up with a Craftsman 6.75HP
briggs power washer and it works great.
