Ron, I do try to at least learn from my mistakes but, at best, I am more
careful than smart. I think I should put a note on the swather seat for
next year. "Do Not Double Swath Flax!"
There are a lot of benefits to double swathing. It leaves a good big
heavy swath that burns well and reduces the need for harrowing and
piling. It also makes for half the travelled distance for the combine
picking up 42 feet vs: 21. If my fields were straight and square with
nothing but straight lines to follow , those two swaths would fit on the
12 foot windrow pickup without a problem. Unfortunately that is not the
case so I will be happy to just keep rolling on 21 feet.
