[AT] Cat 416 backhoe

Does anyone have any experience rebuilding a Perkins diesel engine in a
Caterpillar 416 backhoe.  Is it easier to do an in-frame or remove the
motor?  Is it easier to take the motor out the top or bottom? It doesn't
look very easy to remove the loader. 
I have lot of blow by and am sure I must have broken rings or such to
produce this much blow by.  Also when started a couple of cylinder are slow
to start joining in on the fun.
