[AT] lost--generators

When the Corp of Engineers decided to have the Missouri River flood for
3 months, I bought a 12 kva PTO powered unit. My John Deere 40U runs it
perfectly and that is the reason I stayed with that smaller unit. That
and the fact that it was the only one I could find available by the time
I made up my mind. I really wanted a 25kva Winco. About the same
price, but it requires more horsepower to pull the full load. I imagine
at 1/2 load, the 40 would do just fine. At any rate, I can power the
whole place and can even run the high power demanding stuff by being
selective as to what I turn on. I have a power pack from a Military M151
that I intend to convert to propane to power the generator......some day.

I have had a 3500 watt Coleman for years that I used to power some of my
equipment when on the job without electricity. Noisy dang thing, but I
have used it in the past when the power was out to run the well or the
fridge and a couple lights. Doable.

For my camper, I have one of those quiet Honda 3500 watt inverter type.
That seems to be a heck of a little unit and very, very quiet. I only
have about 10-12 hours on it. Just make coffee and run the
airconditioner in the camper. One at a time, though.
