It is quite a large number. Considering how much time some of these spend in 
storage, you'll either thin the herd to the minimum, pay a bunch of repair 
bills, or learn how to fix them (as most on this list do). The worst part is 
once you learn how to fix one, you never want to get rid of it, you just get 
something newer that may be a bit more reliable while keeping the old one in 
running order anyway.

Have you ever sat down and counted the small engines you use over the
course of the year?  It gets to be a surprisingly large number. I have
two generators, four string trimmers, three chain saws, pressure washer,
tiller, push mower, riding mower, chipper, splitter, little crawler.
That is just the stuff that gets used during the year, not the stuff
that seems to spend its time tucked away and should be gotten rid of.
