Yes it's possible.  If you replaced the cap with a different one and used 
the same plug wires on both they just get a new cap and you've got it. 
However, if you
changed the cap and wires you need to do a bit more trouble shooting.

Wayne, are the plug wires copper core or are they the automotive style
carbon core resistance wires? I could see your problem happening if they
were resistance wires and they were the longest 2. (or the 2 with the
most resistance) For magneto, the copper wires should be used. Also make
sure the plugs don't have excessive gaps.  Doug T
