[Farmall] Cultivator Colors

Hi Folks !

I've been following this discussion on correct colors and even went and read
those pages listed below from the Wisconsin history site. In those pages was
a reference to "cream colored rims".

My, now deceased, Father-in-law had purchased a brand new 1948 Farmall H.
When I first saw it in 1970, you couldn't tell what color anything on it was
originally. About 8 years ago he kind of fixed it up and kind of painted it
up. It looks fine, not show room fine, but I'm not embarrassed by it(I
inherited it). But it always puzzled me as to why he painted the rims a
cream color. I looked through more pages on that site and found a few
mentions of cream rims but never found anything about silver rims. Yet I've
never seen a restored tractor with cream rims. Does anyone know if cream was
the color for rims in 1948 and/or when and why does everybody paint their
tractor rims silver?

Thanks for any thoughts

Kevin
