Look under the tractor where the safety switch is on the brake-clutch pivot shaft to make sure the tang didn't break off or is not seating, its a common problem.
Have a good day,
Thanks,Gary

Subject: [Farmall] Cub Cadet 102 Starter Issue
I'm having a problem with the starting system on my Cub 102. I took it for a
drive to the woods and everything was fine. I shut it off and when I tried
to restart, nothing happened when I turned the key. No click, no noise, the
ammeter does not move when the key is turned.
I towed it back to the barn and made sure the battery was charged. I didn't
think that was an issue because I bought it earlier this summer. The battery
was fine so I removed negative wire from the battery and ground, thoroughly
wire brushed and cleaned. I removed the positive cable from the battery and
thoroughly wire brushed and cleaned. I removed the two wires from the posts
on the starter and cleaned/wire brushed. Made sure all connections were
tight. Still nothing.
There aren't many electrical parts on the tractor so I thought I might just
by a new regulator, switch etc. Then I looked online and saw the prices.
Holy crap.
Any ideas what the problem might be? Where should I start?
Thanks,
Craig Warner
