Having owned 3 different CC Originals I can definably say they are Cub 
Cadet Originals.
The serial numbers would tell you the exact year. It will be located 
stamped into the iron transmission case just above the drain plug on the 
right side. About 4 inches behind the foot rest bolts.

1960 are the RARE units. 401 - 409 were experimentals.  510 - 589 were 
production tests and samples.
1961 started at 590 and went to 21682
1962 were 23675 - 47951
1963 were 49846 - 65457

Engines were Kohler KH-K161 spec. 28542E

The ones listed are base model units.
