[AT] MF 2244 crawler with Perkins diesel

IIRC there are no cylinder liner shims.  In over 30 engines rebuild 
during 1966 to 1975, we never shimmed up a cylinder liner.   That 
specification was for resurfacing the block and to allow the machine 
shop to get the right installed top height for the liners.  As I stated 
earlier, the liner protrudes into the crancase some, and does not allow 
for adjustment at the lower end.  This spec was to determine if the 
counterbore had been worn from the liner moving in the bore. Usually if 
the liner was moving, it would crack.  However there were always 
anomalies.  We only had to deck 2 blocks during that time also.  I would 
try installing a new sleeve upside down in the counterbore and see how 
much it protrudes.    We would also determine whick liner had the best 
fit to the top of the head and then number these for that cylinder 
before installing.  All liners are not the same.  We used a lot of 
loctite back then...We cleaned the bores and the sleeves with carburetor 
cleaner spray before installing.
