[AT] Corn

Dick it's hard to tell but there is a good chance, if it's just one row, it
will get bush hogged so the corn gets scattered around to attract
doves for dove hunting season. Another possibility is that (if it's just
one row) that it just worked out that way. I mean he picked everything
getting as many rows as possible and wound up with one row left. Then he
considered what it cost to run the combine and decided it was cheaper to
leave one row standing that run the combine back through there to get it.
However, with corn being over 8 bucks a bu. that one isn't too likely. It
could be that he left it to pick with a snapper so he'll have some ear corn
for some reason or he might want the stalks of corn for fall decoration or
to sell at a roadside stand. There's not telling but I doubt it had
anything to do with having it stand there for some sort of farming reason.

Since the list is not real busy, and most of you are, or have been,
farmers... why do you see some farmers leave a strip of un-cut corn in each
field? Usually, I see the un-cut row near the center of the field.
Just curious.
Thanks
Dick
