There was a trick in a old "Smoky Unick" column about clogged oil passages. He was able to plumb a grease fitting into the system, then filled a grease gun with 90-180 gear lube and opened the passage without having to tear the engine down. The gear oil just mixed in with the engine oil, but you could change it if concerned.
