Hi Mike.  Nothing to add to the already good discussion on the top link, and
this may be obvious and unnecessary to state... but if your tractor doesn't
have independent pto be sure to put an overrunning clutch between the pto
shaft and the brushhog drive shaft.  Big spinning blades = lots of momentum
= bad thing if it's not isolated from your transmission.

Hi All, I have a question about using a brush hog. I bought one at an
auction Saturday, its a John Deere 513, in nice shape. When I was picking it
up, the old fella that was helping me hook it to my tractor told me to use a
chain instead of a rigid top link. Any thoughts on that?
