[AT] Johnson County Indiana tractor show/Denton SE Old Threseher's Reunion

Charlie,

If we could get some rain in the next couple days corn would not be a total loss. The big issue right now for us is trying to get soybeans planted behind wheat. The shower we got Monday put a little moisture in the ground, especially since there is nothing growing there, but I honestly don't know if there's enough to germinate a soybean or not. I am afraid they would just cook in the ground right now.

I know it's not right to complain but there's no other way to say it: I am tired of the heat, humidity, no rain, and to top it off, this damned smoke! I will be glad to see the first frost whether it rains or not! This miserable smoke has blown in and out a time or two over the last week, but we've been socked in here at home since about 6:00 this evening. Everytime I see a forest ranger on the news talking about the fire is 30% contained I want to grab him by his collar and tell him to get off the camera, get his shovel and "fire flapper" and get back in the @##$ woods!!

Al
