( I would use #1 permatex full hardening. It is impervious to gasoline. )

One on my personal favorites, Gene. The bad news is I am fresh out
and have to invest in a new tube. I have checked a couple of places
and they looked at me like I was making it up.....ho hummmm.

Maybe it was just luck but the gas tank on my IH Loadstar is still holding
after I patched a hole in the bottom with JB Weld many years ago. Not a big
hole but I turned a sheet metal screw into it and plastered it over with JB
weld. It was winter and I had to leave a trouble light close to it for hours
so it would set but so far, so good.
Regarding epoxy, I used that even more years ago to repair the damaged
threads in the block drain of an IH 6 cyl. engine. I'd damaged the thread
when drilling out the old rusty plug so I filled the damaged area with
epoxy, turned the new plug/drain valve into it tight and let it set. That
was probably 30 years ago and it still hold anti freeze.
Guess we are getting off the topic though.
