[AT] Gravely 816

Parts are easy to get still from a Gravely/Ariens dealer. I can still get
parts for my 1961 Gravely model L tractor. If the tractor has rack and
pinion steering, you don't need power steering. We had a 48" blower on the
front of ours and it steered with no problem.

Sorry, I'm resending this. I didn't realize the attachment listing got
"deformatted" when I cut and pasted it.

Well, after getting some feedback from the list I decided to pass on the
Honda 5518 tractor - looked slick, but not worth it.

Here's something else that looks interesting, a 70's Gravely 816 garden
tractor. Someone put some effort into restoring this one, new paint and
"$2,000.00 in rebuilding the Onan engine". Comes with a bunch of
attachments which all look like they're in nice shape.

It includes:

Gravely 816 Tractor with front/rear hydraulics and Onan CCK engine Manual
for tractor and motor Rear Wheel Weights Rear Tire Chains 44" Snow Blower
attachment Spring Tine Rear Cultivator 48" Lawnmower deck Rear mount gear
driven rototiller Front multi-position plow Front 2 wheel tractor adapter
for 4 bolt Gravely 2 wheel tractor attachments Front mount 42" brush cutter
Front mount buzz saw attachment

Looks interesting, the price looks fair.

Questions:

I would not use this for mowing, but would use the other attachments. How
much work is it to change out the different implements?

How hard is it to maintain/get parts for one of these?

One reservation I have is that it appears that these do not have power
steering, something that I really do like.

I had been considering getting a Bobcat 753 with a heated cab for snow
removal, with the idea that it would be handy around the yard (we have 7.5
acres, and have some landscaping to do around the house). However, the
price of admission is quite a bit higher for a Bobcat, especially if you
want to find one that isn't all used up.

Once again, thoughts? I really appreciate the valuable feedback that I
received on the Honda from Dean and others.

Thanks!
