Cats suck. When I was a teenager I had a biopsy because the doctors
thought I had Hodgkins Disease. Turned out I had "cat scratch fever",
presumably from our housecat.

As I type this I have a scratch across my hand from the cat we have
now, but I would not tolerate a bite from a cat any more than I would
from a dog. Playing around with a pet and having an accidental scratch
is one thing. If my dog bit me, he would be terminated, as would a
cat.

I hope you keep your finger.
