If we tried to get rid of every raccoon and opossum in our area it would be 
a full time job.  Actually raccoons are pretty nice animals and can be 
domesticated.  They are death on chickens and eggs and can be a pest around 
the farm but otherwise are pretty harmless. The big problem we have with 
'coons, 'possums and fox around here is they often catch rabies which makes 
them a big danger when that happens.
