[AT] Update

There are some unbelievable things happening at stations. I stopped at one of those "ends of the earth" locations on the way to Hickory, NC last week.  The BP station (advertised on the Interstate) was sold out of regular, so I drove a mile back to the interchange and found a Marathon station on the other side of it.  They were selling regular for $2.539 per gallon.  I did not expect to find gas at that price in the back woods of Tennessee south of Newport.

BTW, I-40 through western North Carolina is open.  Eastbound has two lanes open all the way, but westbound has a mile or two of single lane traffic at the rock slide between mile marker 2 and 3.  It is being patrolled very heavily.  Traffic was normal during the week, but on Sunday the state troopers were using a rolling road block to slow down eastbound traffic up the hill.
