[Farmall] Paint blisters on "H" gas tank

A couple of you mentioned pinholes beneath the paint on the top of the gas
tank. That sure seems likely. It makes sense. I suppose gas sloshes up
when the tractor is in motion, goes through the pinholes, and underneath the
paint.

I had a cover made by "My Classic Tractors" in Ames Iowa. It appears to
breathe, so hopefully it won't make the problem worse.

I just bought this tractor a few weeks ago, and I hate to face removing the
gas tank and trying to fix/repaint it before I even drive it in my first
parade. I'm wondering...is it possible/advisable/safe to try to bond-o,
hand sand, and spot-paint these places with the tank still on the tractor?

I also found a used "H" gas tank on ebay with current bid at $75.00. I'm
wondering if buying this one, painting it, and doing a quick switch-out
isn't a better, perhaps more economical long-term solution than trying to
fix and repaint the one currently on the tractor. What do ya'll think?
