[Farmall] "H" oil filter questions - photos below

Clean the groove until you have metal contact.  Old gaskets tend to 
bake in place.  The gasket does stand on edge and will be retained in 
the groove once the groove is clean.  These filters are for partial 
flow and don't need the high pressure seal we are used to these days.
