I do not write often, but I read each day looking for things that pertain to
the two John Deere oldies that I have. The only time I have ever ask a
question of the list, I was blessed with several right on answers, even to
the part numbers that I needed to purchase. Surly we will miss the ones
departed, but we have the HOPE we will meet again someday soon.
Please keep the list going.

Oh I think we are all here .....just a busy time......
I do think that the three members we have lost lately might have an effect
as they were on here quite a bit and more questions were being asked because
of their expertise.....we will miss them !

Troy, we as a list, and the two-cylinder collecting hobby lost Duane Larson
first.? Duane was a retired physist (nuclear, I think) who had done
extensive research on many topics and had presented sessions at previous
GOG's.? He also put all field service bulletins pertaining to 2-cylinder
Deeres on a CD, along with many other topics of interest to collectors.? His
website is still up,? http://www.jd2cylservice.com/? and you can buy the CD
there. Duane's complete biography is here -??
http://www.jd2cylservice.com/biography.shtml
Next was John Grant.? John was a long-time collector of Deeres, ?literature,
and tools.? He had an extensive collection of each, and, like Duane, had
presented sessions at GOG.
And finally, J.R. Hobbs, probably the leading expert on 2-cylinder Deeres.?
He started into old Deeres by tracking down rare Deeres.? He had done
extensive research in Deere archives, wrote technical articles in both Green
and Two-Cylinder magazines, and authored many books that serve as reference
material?for 2-Cylinder collectors.
As you can see by these very brief bios,?these three men were? veritable
treasure?troves of information about old Deeres, and as such, will be
exceedingly missed.
Leon

Who have we lost?
Could someone please post an obituary and/or the names of those who passed
so we can pay our respects?
Maybe even a short summary of how they were involved in, or impacted the
world of Antique John Deere Tractors?
Thank You.
Does anyone know if Spencer Yost is still with us?
After the Antique Tractor Bible came out, I sort've lost contact with him,
which is a shame, because my 1953 JD 70 was featured in that book several
times.
Thank you,? "Farmer Troy" Bogdan

Is there an adjusting screw for the pinion shaft and gear shaft for the
right adjusting link? Sometimes it will catch the gears and others it
will not work. Hoping for adjustment before buying gears.
