[Farmall] H cultivator setup

I will give you my opinion, which may not be similar to others'. First 
off, a lot depends on what part of the world/country you are in. In most 
of the US, cultivating is rarely done anymore, and even less of it is 
done with Farmall H tractors. So a LOT of cultivators wound up either 
being scrapped or sitting behind barns, along with other idle 
implements. Some of them wound up being attached to tractors when they 
were traded in at dealerships for newer machines.

So, the first thing I would do is put an ad in my local "treasure 
hunter" (free classified magazine) or the "classified" section of my 
local newspaper. Sometimes you will find them in a pile of implements at 
tractor dealerships, left there after they were removed from the tractor 
when it was put up for sale. (We had such a pile where I worked, so I am 
a little familiar with this.)

The real problem probably isn't so much finding the cultivators but 
finding a complete set with ALL the parts you need. The first thing I 
would do is see if I could get a "setting up" manual for the cultivators 
from Binder Books <www.binderbooks.com> or other source, so I could 
understand what I am looking for and how everything went together. When 
you are shown a pile of rusty iron parts, it is not at all obvious if 
everything is there or they are even for a Farmall H/M. ( am guessing 
that the same cultivator assembly was used for both tractor models, and 
maybe for the later 300/400 series but using hydraulic lifts).

Also note that the original cultivator setup for earlier H/M tractors 
was raised by an "armstrong" lever at the right of the operator, so, if 
that isn't part of your tractor, you need the complete lift mechanism as 
well as the mounting and tool bars, sweeps, shovels, etc. It is not a 
simple assembly.
