  If it's in 2 gears, there will be some, but very little, slack before 
it gets tight both ways.  I wouldn't rock it too hard, something might 
break.  Kids shifting gears at farm auctions would get them stuck, then 
those of us that knew what it was might get a bargain!

I'll look at the gears&  any other posibilities.
