Sure, but I actually am not sure yet which serial number will "survive". Until I get into the dismantling phase, i won't know which one is the better one to restore. I will probably be asking advice as I begin work soon. ( I just returned from a vacation, and should begin in the next week or two)
Good luck with your registry, and happy holidays!

I am trying to keep a registry of Super A, Super AV, and Super A-1 and AV-1
erial numbers. So far I have not been working real hard on it. I will
ecord your serial number, and the number for your parts tractor if you
on't mind. Your "good" tractor is the earliest one I have ever personally
een.

To answer your question, the serial number is 250323, but I just bought
another '48 SA with a broken crankshaft for parts, and if I remember
right, it had a SN of 280???. I will be picking it up Sunday and taking
it home, and will check the number then. I do hate to cannibalize another
tractor, but I can't afford to continue to buy individual parts. I will
probably have lots of stuff left over for sell/barter!
BTW Ben, where are you located with your '48? Planning on being in the
Chapel Hill area any time soon?! Hope to meet you and others this next
year at some of the Cubfests (or SA-fest?!)

During the restoration of my '55 Cub, I relied heavily on this forum and,
as
most members have said, you guys are great! As I previously posted, I
have
added a '48 Super A and was looking for some miscellaneous parts for this
winter's overhaul. This week I ended up buying another Super A with a
broken crankshaft (but otherwise reasonably complete) to be used for
parts.
It should be delivered next week and I can't wait! I truly hate to
cannibalize a tractor, but the cost for individual parts was just too
high.
When I finish early next year, chances are that I will have lots of parts
left over, and will let the forum know, should anyone need them.
My question today is: are there any groups, clubs, gatherings, etc, for
the
Super A similar to the Cubfests, etc, for the Cub? I will definitely be
trying to attend some of the cub gatherings in 2011, but would also like
to
get some practical experience with groups for the SA.
Short of that, is there anyone in the Chapel Hill, NC, area with SA
experience who could help me with any problems that might come up during
my
work this winter?
Thanks and happy puttering!
Dale

mmm, well, if there isn't a club for Super A's, there should be! Maybe
e should start one, allowing Farmall Super A, A, 100, 130, and 140
ollectors... and while we are at it, allow B's too.
BTW, what is your serial number? I am wondering how close it is to my
48 Super A, whose number is 260142.
