Mike, did a quick check of average annual snowfall and concluded that you
are in the 24" to 32" group; that is based on large cities around you.   
So your having all of that equipment ready is the prudent approach.
We have eight 275 gallon water tanks (rainwater harvesting from house and
shed roof) for flower and vegetable gardens.  I finally drained them last
week; sure glad I did. It was 14 degrees here last night.
