Thank you for letting us know of John's passing.  I had the pleasure of meeting him at this past years Portland show. John had asked Gene to see if he could find a gas engine to run the little ground hog thresher.   With Genes help we hauled my daughters 2.5 HP Novo back to the threshing area.   We belted up the engine and thresher and for the rest of the show John would hand thresh some wheat to show the spectators how it was done in the 1850's.   

I'm sure glad I had to opportunity  to meet and work with John even if it was briefly.  He will be missed by the folks at Portland but I'm sure his family will carry on his legacy.

I just posted a Youtube video of John running his Ground Hog Thresher at the Portland show.  Unfortunately while taking the photo's I was more concerned with the engine, thresher and process and didn't get too many good shots of John.
