Gene, thanks for letting us know.
Yes, I talked with Mr Girard several times.  
Back on August 27, 1999 I wanted to test my G on the dyno that was
operating near his threshing setup. I could not use the large belt the big
tractors and steam engines were using. It was too wide, also I could not
pull that long belt tight enough to get it clear of the ground.  Someone, I
believe it was you, suggested I borrow a belt from Mr. Girard. So I asked
him if I could borrow a smaller, shorter belt from one of his machines. 
His answer was an immediate Yes. And it worked great, the G tested 10 H.P.;
I have pix courtesy of David Laughead. He was an asset to the
Tri-Stateractor & Engine show.
