Charlie,  I started to tell you that earlier but since it was sliced and 
wrapped I figured they might consider it a "value added" product and not 
require the label info on the slice you bought.   I've gotten into the habit 
of looking at labels on lots of food items to see where they came from. 
Some of those central American locations still use DDT (not that that 
bothers me very much.  I've probably sprayed a couple hundred gallons of it 
myself back in the 60's).  I mostly worry about seafood products because 
shrimp from Viet Nam and other areas of S/E Asia often are farm raised in 
some not too clean water, sometimes poluted with human waste.  Also, you can 
pretty well bet if seafood is shipped more than about 1000 miles it's been 
treated with nitrates or nitrites.
