[AT] AC B Mag question

    Ivan;
    Just because the points are new doesn't mean they are good. Many have
been around for some time and the tungsten contacts corrode from non use. I
have gotten a couple sets that I have had to dress to remove the corrosion.
I use a diamond burnishing tool that is designed for cleaning electrical
contacts and leaves a very smooth, shiny surface. Check continuity through
the points by disconnecting the condenser and ground leads and check with an
ohmmeter. Resistance should be near 0 ohms with points closed and infinity
whth points open. connect ohmmeter to disconnected stud on one side and to
base of points on the other lead.
    It is unlikely that any other part has failed from non-use. Possibly
moisture that can be removed with WD-40 and compressed air.

                        Gene
