Hi Ivan:
Just a loose thought here. My Allis C now has a complete distributor
from a WD, if I am recalling right, including the right angle drive.
When we first got it we assumed it had a mag since it looked like a
mag. It was a Fairbanks Morse distributor, not a mag. It had an
internal coil that we could not find any where back then so that is
why we changed it over. It had always ran OK before the coil failed
and we used it for several years before we discovered it was a battery
distributor. :-) I understand that you can get those coils again now?
At one point "somebody" told us that due to the war and shortages just
after it (mine is a 1946) that all sorts of different systems got used
depending upon what they could buy. I don't know how true that
statement is but I do know that I have looked at them for years and
have not noticed a FB dist. just like that on one.
Good luck
