Good Evening Charlie, the unit had a set of double pulleies in the tranny
and the gen, the control (I'm told) came from a old welder, it was hooked to
the carb and wired to the box on the gen. I got it from a farmer ham that
passed away, I had it for about 5 yrs when I had my comml overhead door co.
only know it worked when asked.
What is your interest in radio?? long haul high freq, shorter range
VHF/UHF?? 1st you should check locally for ham in your area, a local club
and hook up with one of the older guys, he/she can be your elmer (teacher)
you will need to get a study guide for the testing. Try ARRL.COM online for
most of the info you need.
I do a lot of traffic handling, MARS and rag chew, Roy likes rebuilding old
radios. Radios run from $200 to $2000 all on how heave you what to go. I
just bought a backup rig for my Kenwood TS430s for $200 an need to repair
it, a good running one would run about $475 used.
Hope this helps some and think Roy can add more if asked, good luck.
