The 3 pt hitch on the 9n was enginereed   by Ford people,  under fergs orig 
concept. Mr Ferg did not have a lab in detroit in 1939.   His space was 
donated by Mr Ford.  The very precise geometry of the 9n was  done by Harold 
Brock and other ford people.  The fabulous  9n was  Henry Ford's particular 
obsession.
 
If there was a patent, it should have been fords.  A suit settled in  1952 
closed the case.
