Herb, that JD 4wd is actually a fairly typical sized tractor for this area 
and he is certainly not a big farmer by today's standards. Thats about a 35 
foot air seeder behind the tractor and the plastic tank in the foreground is 
liquid fertilizer. What you can't see is the other fertilizer tank hitched 
behind the air seeder. Its makes for quite a train of equipment when you see 
it all stretched out going down the field. What you are seeing on the side 
of the air seeder tank is probably the fill auger. They have their own 
hydraulic drive auger mounted on the side to fill up the tanks with grain 
and fertilizer. We have come a long was from the days of a five gallon pail 
and bathtub (what I started out with nearly 40 years ago).:-)
